DANCE – POETRY – MUSIC – PAINTING – VIDEO
RUMARYHMÄ is a group of artists that occasionally comes together to make interdisciplinary performances,
installations, exhibitions and video works.
It consists of Pia Karaspuro (dancer),
Jouko Kyhälä (musician), Teemu Mäki,
Outi Pulkkinen (musician), Päivi Rissanen (dancer), and various guests.

The groups first work was Final Placement, a series of
multidisciplinary performances, in Otso gallery, Espoo, Finland, 2002. The pictures here derive from Some Love, a performance by RUMARYHMÄ with guests Julia Bylenok, Elena Dergachev, Olga Sorokina, Olga Shvachko and Dmitri Uhanov, in Osobnyak Theater, St. Petersburg, Russia, October 11th, 2003. After that RUMARYHMÄ made The Reapers, an exhibition and performances again in Otso Gallery 2004. Since then the group or its subgroups have made three video works together: Itäkeskus Dancing Tree and Elevator Dance 1&2. |

«... и придёт другая революция. Когда социализм сокрушит
потребительский
капитализм, цель его не только справедливое перераспределение достояния и власти в массах. Новый социализм также изменит наше отношение к достоянию, власти и имущества как таковых. Мы перестанем быть нервными, отчаявшимися в алчности своей скупердяями, но превратимся в батальных героев, способных к поистине бездумным проявлениям щедрости, нежным и страстным, в отношении как материального, так и нематериального, но без побочных проявлений, способных подорвать основы общества социального равенства…» ”THE REAPERS"

amoral expenditure, both tender and violent, of all things material and
immaterial, but without side-effects that would corrupt the wellfare
society’s social contract...”
”NIITTÄJÄT"
"...ja seuraava vallankumous tulee. Kun tämä sosialismi
murskaa kulutuskapitalismin, sen päämäärä ei
ole vain vaurauden ja vallan reilu tasajako ihmisten kesken. Uusi
sosialismi muuttaa myös käsityksemme vauraudesta, vallasta ja
hyödykkeistä itsestään. Emme ole enää
neuroottisia, epätoivoisen ahneita hamstereita, vaan meistä
tulee Bataillelainen sankari, joka pystyy ekstaattiseen ja amoraaliseen
materiaalisten ja immateriaalisten asioiden tuhlaukseen,
hellään ja väkivaltaiseen, mutta ilman sivuvaikutuksia,
jotka mädättäisivät hyvinvointiyhteiskunnan
yhteiskuntasopimuksen...”
